Trailer of the week Feb 25-March 3

Hollywood is still pumping out those “Liberal Iraq” movies before the theme dries out like an Iraqi dessert. In conjunction with film like Rendition, In the Valley of Elah, The kingdom, Home of the Brave and Lion for Lambs, comes a new movie called Stop-Loss. Director Kimberly Peirce ( Boys don’t Cry) brings you a story about an Iraq war hero name Sgt. Brandon King (Ryan Phillippe), who returns home to his small Texas hometown after completing his tour of duty. Here he tries to re-connect with his Family and war-time buddies( Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt) .However, plans suddenly change, when against Brandon’s will, the Army orders him back to duty in Iraq( a notice which is known as a Stop-loss).This of course upends Brandon’s world and testes everything he believes in: for love of country or for love for Family?

I am dying to see this movie. My best friend from back in Vermont, and saved my life when we were 18, is over in Iraq. When I see this preview, it makes me happy because he should be home soon, but on the other hand I know that he could be taken away from me again too.
